Suzique;
My mother is an alcoholic! I have to be blunt and just say it, because I spent so many, many years in denial about her drinking until I started therapy after the loss of my daughter. It was during those years of therapy that I was helped to realize that my mom is an alcoholic. So, you are, in no way, interfering!
My fear, since she lives alone, is that she will go into a diabetic coma and be there for hours and hours before anyone even knows (or days and days when we are on vacation). Yes, I spend my vacations worrying about my mother!
I know that you are right, I have to let go. Perhaps I need a bit more therapy to help me to do that Laughing
I have spoken with my doctors and was told that she should not consume any amount of alcohol if she is diabetic. I tell her what my doctor's say and she tells me that her diabetes specialists says that she can have "some" wine (like I said, I'm sure that she's not telling them how much wine she drinks - she drinks ALL DAY LONG!!!). She uses the same glass and keeps refilling it...so she says that she's only had ONE GLASS of wine (she thinks I'm stupid or that I don't see what she's doing!). I see gallon bottles of wine get consumed in one day...that is not "some" wine!
Anyway, I'm ranting again....sorry! I will do my best to take your advice and I can't tell you how much I appreciate you helping me with this. It sort of consumes me, I guess! I really have to work on that, I know!
Thank You So Much for your help, your understanding, and your concern.

Peace and Blessings
