Whats the first thing docs medicate you with for Lupus. I dont mean Ibuprofen or such, I mean the actual Lupus.
Prednisone>Antimalarials>Immunosuppressives>Chemotherapy
Is this pretty much how it works? _________________ Dx this year SLE but because of past symptoms and testing I think I've had it 15 years!Dx 1990 Fibromyalgia, depression, OA, migraines, plantar fasciitis, tarsal tunnel synd. both feet.Heart surg '97 for bicuspid aortic valve w/regurg. hi cholestrol. |

If the organs aren't affected or only mildly affected, antimalarials are usually used first. If there is a lot of inflamation steroids are also prescribed. Innunosuppresents and chemotheropy are used when there is more severe organ involvement. Hope this helps . |
