Hi All,

I came across a website with useless facts and found some of them quite amusing...........and some, not so amusing!!

Just thought I'd share for fun............ Very Happy

The odds of being killed by falling out of bed.........1 in 2 Million.

The odds of being killed by space debris........1 in 5 Billion.

Termites eat through wood 2 times faster when listening to rock music.

13 people are killed each year by vending machines falling on them.

The average person flexes the joints in their finger 24 millions times in a lifetime. (I'm guessing for those of us with Lupus, it's much less)

There are more than 1,000 chemicals in a cup of coffee.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Enjoy your day, and watch out for those vending machines......

Lori

Hi Oluwa, I am back. Very Happy Thanks for asking of me.

I've been super busy the whole first part of June with my 2 kids finishing up school (Yeah, school's out!), and also with the Rose Cup Races. My husband races cars, and that's our biggest race of the season. It's a really busy 4 day weekend. We also put on a Barbeque for my husband's racing group that I organize and shop for. My husband mans the BBQ's. We had about 65 people this year. It's always alot of fun.

Then afterwards, I always have to take it super easy and take lots of naps for the entire week afterward. Even with quiet Lupus that hasn't flared in 15 years, I've learned so well how to listen to my body. I almost instinctively slow down and take really good care of myself after any extra stress. Always protecting myself from 'IT'.

So I'll be back to posting a bit here and there. While I was gone I did pop in from time to time and catch up on everybody. Made me feel like I was with you guys.

I'm off now to have my Friday night....finish my beer and enjoy a repeat of one of my favorite movies....Captain Ron. Laughing Laughing

Happy Friday to you, Oluwa. Hope things are well.

Fondly,

Lori Cool

Lori,

I'm curious, what kind of cars does your husband race? I'm not familiar with the Rose Cup.

Hi Rob

He races in SCCA Club Racing - Sports Car Club of America. He races Spec Miata. It's a class that's only been around for about 5 years. The guys (and gals) buy old '90-'91 Mazda Miatas and turn them into race cars. It's one of the less expensive ways to get into racing, since we can't afford the Porsches' or Vipers'. Smile You can check out my husband's website with in-car race videos from around the country at specmiatavideos.com. (I hope it's okay to post this here)

Rose Cup Race is part of our annual Rose Festival celebration. There are activitities throughout June like our Rose Festival Grand Foral Parade, Dragon Boat Races, an Air Show, a Hot Air Balloon show (that one's at sunrise), etc. And, of course, the Navy ships (both US and Canadian) show up at Portland Waterfront Park seawall and always bring the sailors in to town for a weekend. That's always an interesting time. Very Happy

Take care,

Lori
